Data collection

When you access our website, general information is collected automatically. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser and the operating system used, your internet service provider’s domain name and the like. None of this information allows any conclusions to be drawn about your person. Collection of this information is necessary for technical reasons in order to correctly deliver the content of websites you have requested and is unavoidable when using the internet. We carry out statistical evaluations of such anonymous information in order to optimize our website and the technology behind it.

Ordering in the online-shop

Whenever a purchase contract is initiated, concluded, processed or cancelled, we collect, save and process data in accordance with the statutory regulations.

Any personal data you provide us with during the order process or by email (name, billing address, possibly different delivery address and payment details) will only be used for correspondence with you and only for the purpose for which you have provided the data. The legal basis for the use of data is the fulfillment of the contract or the implementation of pre-contractual procedures, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) VO (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation). We only pass on your data to the shipping company commissioned with the delivery, insofar as this is necessary for the delivery of the goods. In order to process payments, we pass on your payment details to the bank tasked with the transaction.

We guarantee that we will never pass on your personal data to third parties, unless we are legally obliged to do so or you have given your express prior consent. Insofar as we use third-party services to carry out various processes, the statutory provisions are complied with.

Payment via PayPal

The website controller has integrated PayPal components on this website. PayPal is an online payment service provider. Payments are processed via so-called PayPal accounts, which represent virtual private or business accounts. PayPal also offers the option of processing virtual payments via credit card if a user does not have a PayPal account. A PayPal account is managed via an email address, which is why there is no classic account number. PayPal enables customers to initiate online payments to third parties or to receive payments. PayPal also acts as a trustee and offers buyer protection services.

The European operating company for PayPal is PayPal (Europe) S.à.r.l. & Cie. S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, 2449 Luxembourg, Luxemburg.

If a customer selects “PayPal” as their payment option during the order process in our online shop, the customer’s data will automatically be transmitted to PayPal. By selecting this payment option, the customer consents to the transmission of personal data required for payment processing.

The personal data transmitted to PayPal is usually first name, last name, address, email address, IP address, telephone number, mobile phone number or other data that is necessary for payment processing. In order to process the purchase contract, personal data related to the respective order will also have to be processed.

The purpose of the transmission of this data is to process payments and prevent fraud. The controller will transfer PayPal personal data only if there is a legitimate reason for the transfer. The personal data exchanged between PayPal and the person responsible for processing payments may be transmitted by PayPal to credit reporting agencies. The purpose of this transmission is to verify identity and creditworthiness.

PayPal may pass on personal data to affiliated companies and service providers or subcontractors, insofar as this is necessary to fulfill the contractual obligations or the data is to be processed by a contractor.

The customer has the option of withdrawing their consent to the handling of personal data from PayPal at any time. This withdrawal does not affect personal data that must be processed, used or transmitted for (contractual) payment processing.

PayPal’s current data protection regulations can be found at https://www.paypal.com/de/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full.

Deletion of data

We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data economy. We therefore only store your personal data for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes mentioned here or for the various time limits on storage as determined by law. After the respective purpose ceases to exist or these limits have expired, the corresponding data will be routinely deleted in accordance with statutory provisions. You have a legal entitlement to this.

Your rights in terms of information, correction and data portability

You have the right to receive information about your personal data stored by us at any time and to request corrections. You also have the right to data portability.

Right of appeal

If you believe that we are in violation of data protection regulations, you have the right to complain to the competent data protection authority.

Cookies

Like many other websites, we also use so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a website server to your hard drive. This automatically gives us certain data about your computer and your connection to the internet, such as your IP address, the browser used and your operating system.

Cookies cannot be used to start programs or transfer viruses to a computer. By utilizing the information contained in cookies, we can make navigation easier for you and enable our websites to be displayed correctly.

Under no circumstances will the data we collect be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent.

You can of course view our website without cookies. Internet browsers are usually set to accept cookies. You can deactivate the use of cookies at any time via your browser settings. Please use your internet browser’s help functions of to find out how you can change these settings. Please note that some functions of our website may not work if you have deactivated the use of cookies.

SSL-encryption

In order to safeguard your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption methods (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS.

Use of script libraries (Google web fonts)

In order to present our content correctly and make it graphically appealing across different browsers, we use script libraries and font libraries such as Google Fonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts/). Google web fonts are transferred to your browser’s cache to avoid repeated loading. If your browser does not support Google Fonts or prevents access, content is displayed in a standard font.

Calling script libraries or font libraries automatically triggers a connection to the operator of the library. It is theoretically possible – but currently unclear whether it happens and if so for what purposes – that operators of corresponding libraries collect data.

The privacy policy the library operator Google operates under can be found here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

Changes to our privacy policy

We reserve the right to occasionally adapt this data protection declaration so that it always complies with current legal requirements or to implement changes to our services in the data protection declaration, e.g. when introducing new services. The new data protection declaration then applies to your next visit.

No legal action without previous contact

Should this website, its content, agreements or processing activities carried out by us violate the rights of third parties or legal provisions due to their content or design, please let us know. We promise immediate remedial action. You will receive an answer within five working days.

The involvement of a lawyer is therefore initially not required – according to §§ 249, 254 BGB (German Civil Code). We will not reimburse costs incurred without prior contact.
